Rainbow Activities for Preschoolers

Letter R week is one of my favorites because who doesn't love rainbows? We had so much fun with rainbow-themed activities all week long.

Read Rainbow Books

We started by reading some of our favorite rainbow books. There are so many wonderful options out there — from learning about colors to understanding how rainbows form in nature. Reading together is always the foundation of our weekly activities.

Rainbow Fruit at the Grocery Store

One of our favorite activities was a trip to the grocery store to find fruits in every color of the rainbow. The kids loved searching the produce section for red strawberries, orange oranges, yellow bananas, green grapes, blueberries, and purple plums. We arranged them in rainbow order when we got home!

Rainbow Art Projects

We did several rainbow art projects throughout the week, including painting rainbows with different materials, creating rainbow collages with tissue paper, and making rainbow suncatchers for our windows.

The printable activity bundle for Letter R includes tracing pages, color matching games, and more rainbow-themed learning activities. It's designed to be used in 10-minute chunks throughout your week.
